The Doggon' Difference

Lightweight Aluminum Frame

The aluminum for our frames is used in applications where high strength to low weight ratios are critical such as the aircraft and aerospace industries. Our carts are light and strong, allowing it to hold up to rambunctious adventures without weighting down your pet.

Weight Adjustment/Balance

Our carts are designed to allow you to easily balance your pets weight while in the chair. This unique feature prevents excess pressure being applied to your pets forelimbs and ensures the wheelchair is being used to its maximum potential. Each cart has 6 possible wheel positions to find the right balance for your pet.

"Walking Axle"

Allows pets to use the wheelchair with the rear legs down. Our innovative design allows for greater clearance over large obstacles, which is a real bonus for pets who like to take their adventures off-road. The rear stabilizer bar also provides some protection against tipping over backwards.

Riding on Air

Air-filled pneumatic tires with a sealed maintenance free bearing cartridge give your pet the most comfortable ride available. Allows your pet to maneuver over a wide variety of terrain- grass, gravel, sand, pavement, and rocky, uneven terrain. Larger wheels have a rugged mountain bike tread for durability. Closed cell foam wheels can be available upon request, but we feel the pneumatic wheels allow a bit more shock absorption.

Harness Support System

Our rear support saddle is made of quick-drying, durable, comfortable neoprene with additional strapping to support your pet's pelvis while allowing full range of motion and room to potty. Additional straps are available at no additional cost upon request to use the rear saddle as a support harness for walking as well. Many therapists prefer our system to encourage more muscle activation in the core as well as extremities. The front harness is padded for your pet's comfort, and stirrups are included to support hind limbs as needed to prevent injury. Stirrups can be placed on the sides to accommodate extensor rigidity, or at the typical rear placement. Additional abdominal support may be added/recommended depending on your pet's age, physical abilities, and can always be added later. Our products are handmade, so we are able to accommodate individual differences such as limb amputation, lipomas, etc. Just reach out if you need special modifications for your pet!

Made to Order

Each order is made fully custom for your pet. Frames are reinforced as needed to consider for activity level, terrain, which goes for the harnesses, too. Metal buckles are available as an upgrade for medium carts and larger. If you have special requests, please contact us, and we'll do our best to accommodate your pet's needs. We aren't able to do color, but we can offer advice on how to do it yourself! Your pets is an individual, so their cart should be made just for them.

Support As Needed

Our design suits pets who can walk but need some support, to pets who cannot use their hind legs at all. If your pet has a degenerative condition, it is ideal to integrate wheels into your routine before they lose the ability to walk independently. This will allow your pet to maintain better muscle tone in both the front and rear legs, and help maintain balance/weight distribution to protect the front limbs. Wheels enable your pet to exercise and move more efficiently, and can even help them get stronger before their condition may progress (if degenerative). Carts make an excellent tool for rehabilitation as you can control the amount of weight bearing of the hind limbs. Think of them as walkers, or a mobility aid, not a passive wheelchair. It is an unfortunately common misconception that wheels are the end of the road, or your pet will become dependent upon them - this is not true! Please reach out if you'd like to chat about whether wheels are the right choice for your pet.
